Anna Elizabeth Prewitt Wills, age 85, widow of James L. Wills passed away Monday July 30th, 2018 at Baptist Health Lexington following a long illness. Born June 27th, 1933 to the late William B. and Sophia Buchanan Prewitt, she was a native of Bourbon County having lived out her last years in Harrodsburg, Paris, and Lexington. A member of the Millersburg Baptist Church, she graduated from North Middletown High School, and then went on to work for the Lexington Herald-Leader with over 30 years of service. She was an avid bowler and a Paris High School and UK fan.
Mrs. Wills is survived by her three children; William “Bill” W. Lawrence and Kathy of Silver Spring, MD, Donna J. Knox and Martin of Lexington, and Leila K. Wills of Estill Springs, TN; grandchildren, Tara Mansare and Tony Lawrence, Nathaneal and Ben Buchanan, Carson Knox, Mitchell Wills and Dalton and Haley Atwood. She is also survived by her sisters, Lillie Roberts and Jane Martin; brothers, Davis, Albert and Catesby Prewitt; and several great grandchildren, brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Emma, Bernice, Bettye, Eileen and Bertha; brothers, Bryan, Roger, Strawter, and Tommy.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 4, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Brother Dale Gatewood and Pastor Lowell Rice with burial in Paris Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Tara Mansare, Tony Lawrence, Nathaneal and Ben Buchanan, Carson Knox, Mitchell Wills, Dalton and Haley Atwood, Chris Collins, Shannon Martin, James Prewitt, Gary Gilmore, Shane Shelby, Bill Prewitt and Keith Buchanan.
Honorary Pallbearers are Cathy Roe, Beverly Conkright, Linda Blankenship, Elizabeth Atkins, Jane Martin, Lillie Roberts, Davis, Albert and Catesby Prewitt, Clarence Wallace, Dean Martin, Martin Knox, and Billy West.
